The Special Educational Needs Advice Centre (SENAC) is a charity organisation, set up in 2003, designed to meet the needs of children and young people with special educational needs throughout N. Ireland. SENAC is committed to assisting parents access the educational provision required to meet their children’s needs. |

SENAC offers: |

An independent and confidential telephone advice-line service, providing advice and information to parents/carers at all stages of the process for the Assessment and Statementing of Special Educational Needs.

Written information and guidelines on the Assessment and Statementing procedures both on this website and in print on request.

Helping parents understand policies and procedures in relation to their child.

Information on contacting other relevant organizations.

How can we help? |

If you are unhappy with the level or type of provision your child is receiving at school.

If you want to request that the Education and Library Board assess your child. |

If the Education and Library Board refuse to assess your child or after assessment refuse to issue a Statement. |

If you are worried about the Annual Review of your child’s Statement. |

If you want to appeal against a Statement when it is first made or amended. |

If the Education and Library Board will not put the school you prefer on the Statement. |
